Ian paints mainly coastal and industrial subjects. He visits places that have a history of working people and past glories, industry on the wain and the re use of post industrial land and structures. He uses bold colours and angels to give a monumental feel to often basic or faded subjects. The fishing industry, it’s ports and harbours, steel making and mills and the people who worked in them are all represented.
