Studio 9 Ceramics
Danielle’s work is inspired by the natural beauty of the local coastline. Using photographic references and on-site sketches, she blends these with memory, imagination, and abstract mark-making. Painting is essential to Danielles ceramic practice, guiding the exploration of colour and texture and resulting in ceramic pieces that serve as three-dimensional responses to paintings.
Danielle primarily create hand-thrown vessels, ranging from delicate forms to increasingly larger pieces that act as canvases for experimental stoneware glazes. The contrast between structured shapes and expressive glazes reflects balance and self-expression, aiming to evoke emotions and memories while inviting viewers to interpret the landscape within each piece.
