Amy creates contemporary silver jewellery focusing on traditional silversmithing techniques such as chain and sand casting. Creating statement chains and rings to sand cast pendants cast directly from the offcuts of her ceramic process. Amy has developed a signature use of cement to add detail and a contemporary twist to her jewellery designs. Earthy toned toasted stoneware clay is carefully carved in the Kurinuki process, and glazed using a palette of colours inspired by Amy’s metalworking background. Ceramic pieces range from functional mugs to decorative objects.
The jewellery and ceramics are brought together in harmony, reflecting the tradition in each other and connecting our body and home. Jewellery is intertwined into ceramic objects to blur the lines between wearable and decorative – creating designs that are anything but ordinary.
