Elena Rubiu

Elena likes to play with surface patterns and geometries and enrich her work with bright colours. She experiments with media such as coloured slip, underglazes, and combinations of dipping glazes. Elena imprints surfaces with natural elements such as leaves which she finds in her garden and during mindful walks. Her favourite technique is sgraffito, which she finds very mindful and soothing. She is inspired by her surroundings and loves finding details and harmony in the shapes and colours of everyday life. Elena also finds inspiration from the places of her childhood, waves and rocks by the Sardinian Sea.
