Stuart Brocklehurst Printmaker
A multi-disciplinary printmaker, making mezzotint, wood engravings and linocut prints. He goes for a walk with a sketchbook and makes drawings of anything that he finds interesting, then back in the studio uses these sketches as the basis for his prints.
His work is naturalistic and representational, in the tradition of British topographical landscape, influenced by such printmakers as Charles Tunnicliffe, Robin Tanner, Paul Drury, Stanley Anderson and early 20th century travel posters. As well as the work of contemporary printmakers such as Martin Mitchell and Howard Phipps.
