Jacqui Barrowcliffe

Jacqui is a multidisciplinary artist whose work focuses on process and impermanence. “Invisible Threads”, developed during her residency at a former textile factory in Barcelona, is inspired by the narratives a piece of fabric can hold, from personal memories from its use, to the very process of its creation. Through a process of undoing she wishes to make visible those stories, establishing a dialogue between herself and the thread, and by extension, the present and the past. As the stitches are removed the memory of them remains in the small holes left behind in the cloth, a record of their passing.
