Agnis Smallwood
Agnis is a Designer Maker Researcher and Educator specialising in weave, living in Leeds and working across Yorkshire and beyond as a freelancer. Agnis designs and weaves her own work, often taking inspiration from the natural world around her, including vegetables! She is drawn to the diversity and vivid colours that can be found when close observation is undertaken, for example the colours in a radish are surprisingly vibrant.
Agnis is also passionate about creating opportunities that enable participants to explore traditional craft techniques like weaving for themselves. Agnis graduated in 2009 from Cumbria Institute of the Arts, with a BA in Contemporary Applied Arts and later in 2017 with an MA in Artist Teachers and Contemporary Practices from Goldsmiths, University of London.
