Ally Art

Ally’s work occupies a relaxed middle ground between mixed media and abstract painting: using embroidery and a detailed use of stitch, she is able to express her interests with mother nature and in particular, lichen. Through her work, the artist presents what would otherwise be overlooked into a space where it can be viewed and celebrated on a larger scale. The vivid contrast between the dark layering of her backgrounds and the bright, rich colours of her stich, allow for the use of embroidery to shine through and mimic the textures and forms she observes in the world around her.
