Students from Bradford School of Art explore the role of sustainability and low impact textile practices. Each student was tasked to create an original textile piece based on a second-hand men’s shirt. Taking their lead from the exhibition’s title, they have explored global themes of waste, recycling and ethics within textiles and fashion. They were encouraged to investigate locally sourced, grown, foraged or recycled/waste materials or low-impact techniques such as hand stitch, construction, natural dyeing and printing.
Foundation Degree (FdA) Textiles Practice is a 4 year part-time course, taught by blended learning at Bradford College and remotely.
