Susannah Brookes Sustainable Jewellery Design
Susannah creates modern jewellery using traditional silversmithing techniques and more contemporary precious metal clay.
Her main collection is inspired by the lace-making heritage of Nottingham. By imprinting lace onto the surface of silver she forges the metal into fluid organic shapes reflecting the movement of heavy lace.
Susannah’s more recent work is inspired by delicate seedheads and wild flowers collected in Derbyshire. By working with silver clay and 24ct gold, she is able to capture the uniqueness and delicacy of foliage and flowers.
All pieces are one-of-a-kind and are created using recycled silver and fair-mined gold.
