Hester Cox Printmaker
Years of fellrunning has helped Hester develop a deep connection to the landscape and natural history of the Yorkshire Dales which is reflected in her printmaking. An image might be inspired by a wildlife encounter or something she has collected, such as a feather or bone. She specialises in collagraph because its diversity allows her to combine intentional cut and scratched detail with looser painted textures contrasting naturalism with stylisation and a compelling element of surprise. She enjoys working with museums and ecological groups using her prints to draw attention to our fragile habitats and the species they support.
