Carolyn Hird-Rogers
Carolyn, originally trained in ceramics, now uses recycled and rescued materials to create papers inspired by the textures found in the northern landscape. Collage paper vessels respond to hills, glaciated valleys and rivers and are used to display found natural objects. Framed collage images using torn textured papers have developed from her recent visits to Iceland, the west coast of Scotland and her local Yorkshire Dales.
Carolyn has recently returned to her first love of jewellery design. Working with these textured papers, bold shapes, statement brooches and ear studs, landscapes and fish are the focus for this new work.
