Colour Paper Stitch
Inspired by the ever-changing landscapes of the Yorkshire countryside, Claire Louise Mather’s sewn paper works explore themes of memory and place. Using dyed and found papers, she tears, combines and stitches them together, forming abstract, layered landscapes.
Her process, which she describes as ‘playing with colour’, fuses fine art with textile techniques, allowing each piece to unfold instinctively.Working intuitively, Claire allows the work to evolve organically, often leaving pieces untitled to invite personal interpretation.
