Frances Payne
Frances Payne is a North Yorkshire based artist and printmaker specialising in detailed linocut prints inspired by landscape, nature and folklore. Her work explores place, threshold spaces and the small stories held within the land.
Combining strong composition with a subtle Art Nouveau influence, she often incorporates gilded elements and delicate watercolour additions. Each piece begins as pages of sketches and “brain doodles” before being developed and hand printed in her studio, with a focus on craftsmanship and atmosphere.
Alongside open and limited edition prints, she produces handmade books and paper works.
