15Tulin: Glasswork
30 Helen St
Tulin finds working with glass mesmerising: it’s both beautiful and complex.
She creates small vessels, initially kiln-formed and then cold-worked. During the latter process she often creates more gestural forms, whose colours and shapes allude to memories of places encountered during her travels – the landscapes, and the flora and fauna she has seen, home and abroad. They also seek to reflect an indulgence in the sheer joy of glass; how it appears to change according to the constant play of the shifting light.
