Yorkshire Speak Their Name was founded by Anna Scott and Karen Sykes who are both bereaved by suicide. The Yorkshire quilt was launched on a tour of Yorkshire in October 2022 and has been ‘on the road’ since then.
The Quilt is a beautiful piece of art and a memorial for people who have died by suicide. Each square has been lovingly created by someone left behind who loved them and by making a square those people are connected by a common bond. These connections are so meaningful and can combat the isolation felt by suicide bereavement.
The quilt also encourages those life saving conversations around suicide in a gentle way by its’ presence.
