11Aishat Arowosegbe
Aishat Arowosegbe merges digital precision and traditional techniques to interrogate identity through a lens of cultural resilience. Her work, rooted in Yoruba textile motifs and diasporic narratives, challenges beauty standards and erasure by centering Black women as regal, unapologetic subjects. With meticulous attention to light and shadow, she renders darker skin tones in vivid warmth, amplifying underrepresented voices.
Blending tools like Procreate and Adobe Fresco with organic textures, Aishat crafts bold portraiture that bridges African historical identifiers and modern selfhood. Her art hopes to transcends representation, it demands visibility, transforming personal and collective histories into prideful artwork.
