Bev Morton is a mixed-media artist and creative workshop facilitator who lives in Thornton. She is a studio holder and a member of the Gallery Upstairs artists collective based at South Square. She is also one of the founders of the Thornton Arts Trail which takes place in the middle of June.
Inspired by nature, Bev seeks to convey her emotional responses to the landscape; distilling the feeling of the ground to the sky in that moment.
Her paintings and monotypes are created by chance and intention in an expressive and interpretative way, using layers of acrylic paint, mono-printing, mixed-media, mark-making, collage, textures and natures imprints expressing the voice of the Bronte landscape.
Her third year at the Saltaire Arts Trail, Bev has exhibited most recently at The Gallery Upstairs with 75 miniature abstract landscapes and at The Crafthouse in Bingley. She will be exhibiting at The Apothecary in Thornton in addition to the Thornton Art Trail for 2025.
