Emma O’Brien – Illustrator and Maker of Monsters

Emma creates joyous playful art that appeals to a wide audience. She describes herself as an illustrator and maker of monsters – creating one-of-a-kind monster plushies that all come with a hand drawn story card. The story cards describe how the monster (Colin or Dave or Susan- they tend to have quite ordinary names) like to burp the alphabet or hold the world record for the longest fart, maybe they push in front of the queue at the ice cream van. Either way, it’s what makes the monsters more collectable and collectable they are – Emma has a following of monster collectors up and down the country and even as far away as Australia.

Emma draws inspiration for her illustration work from her monsters primarily, but also her love of swimming, the outdoors and music.
