Jo Walton

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, Jo will no longer be able to exhibit at 1 Salts Mews. This venue will now host work by Ry Gibson- Moss Artist.

Jo’s work is rooted in the elements. She creates abstract sea/colour-scapes focusing on horizons, using gold, silver, copper leaf, and oil, playing with steel, rust, wax and verdigris on wooden panels and plaster. The oxidised steel spills into rust prints onto plaster and heavy paper.

Jo is inspired by extensive travel – sailing in her twenties delivering yachts, and her childhood years living in Australia.

A new direction is wildflowers and hedgerows, creating moody, abstract, highly textured landscapes, on large panels. These works continue to play with horizons and depth of field, so complement Jo’s other themes.
