Jonathan is a self-taught landscape painter based in the Yorkshire Dales. His inspiration comes from the landscapes around him, which he uses to explore the conflicting notions of nature as both healing for the soul, and destructive to physical things. His work will often show beautiful, real landscapes with elements of decay, or may show human structures dwarfed by the elements. In this he seeks to draw these two opposing ideas of nature together.
