Morag Macpherson Textiles
Morag is originally from Glasgow and currently creates her textile art from her home and garden studio overlooking Kirkcudbright Bay in South-west Scotland.
Morag has been creating textiles for nearly twenty years and works internationally and in her local community. Morag creates printed textiles in many ways including digitally, screen and mono-printed; naturally dyed and eco-printed. Morag enjoys working to commission; community art; project work; workshops and creating work to sell.
Recently, an artist’s residency found Morag investigating Peatlands and embracing environmentalism in her practice. Her long-time use of patchwork as a great way to reuse has been a strong feature in Morag’s work for many years.
Naturally dyed colour palettes and their harmonious blend is Morag’s newest obsession. However her bright bold use of digitally printed colour in graphic surface pattern is still apparent in her classic designs.
