Rose has focused on painting scenes in the Aire Valley she finds when exploring footpaths and streets. She’s become especially intrigued by the trees growing in town centre’s, along busy roads and winding lanes. Portraying them individually or in their characterful groups alongside familiar buildings and scenery, she highlights the giant plants that inhabit our daily landscape.
Rose pursues a varied approach to creating artworks to keep her perspective fresh. She uses mixed media with acrylic paint often direct onto old picture frames to project how she feels about each view, inspired by the fleeting changes in weather.
BRADFORD-BASED ARTIST: Our programme always features a wealth of locally-based talent, and we are especially proud to champion local artists this year, as we celebrate Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.
