Sarah Harris
Creating contemporary screen prints of Yorkshire landscapes, Sarah’s prints use drawings as their basis. These fine lines are transferred onto screen, ink is hand pulled and layered, utilising a high degree of accuracy and a sensitive use of colour to create the final image.
Portraying traditional to contemporary subjects, each work recognises the important connections between people and place. Sarah is particularly interested in how natural and man-made features are intertwined, observing farmland, walls, paths, and follies. She’s also intrigued by the often omitted structures; the wire fence, powerline or street light, which are intrinsic to present-day life.
