Glad About Ceramics
Vessels made out of clay, using different methods of construction including wheel thrown and hand built. Sizes range from an inch or so to approximately 18 inches. Some can be used for food service such as platters; most are mainly decorative; all are unique. Each piece is finished with a combination of colours in the form of oxides and/or underglazes and/or glazes, usually fired to stoneware temperatures. The artist explores themes around flight, flow and furrows, often painstakingly building layer upon layer of flattened coils to create texture and form.
