Katie Timson Ceramics
Katie enjoys walking and whilst doing so, finds herself collecting all manner of objects that she considers to be interesting or beautiful, such as feathers, fragments of bird eggshells, pebbles, seaglass and seed heads. Their natural patterns, colours and texture provide inspiration for a collections of ceramic pieces which record walks through different landscapes.
Katies bird egg and pebble inspired bowls and vases are wheel thrown or hand-built using clay bodies and glazes she has devised and are fired in two different kiln atmospheres – electric oxidation and gas reduction.
