18Donna Maria Taylor
7 Edward St
Donna’s artwork is mainly inspired by the rugged landscapes of the British Isles – places she has visited personally. She gathers visual information through sketches and photographs and then heads back to her studio in York to translate this collected material into the final pieces.
Throughout the process drawing is fundamental to her practice, as is experimenting with various techniques to achieve layered and unique effects. Donna also rarely confines herself to one medium so you will often find a mix of acrylics, watercolours, oil pastels and inks within her work.
