Francis Allwood
Francis a printmaker with a passion for British nature, her menagerie of animal subjects designed with a glint of personality to make you smile; she specialises in intaglio printmaking methods, where she uses a sharp tool to incise her design into a flat surface and takes prints by ‘inking up’ and running the plate through her traditional cast iron press with specialist papers. This process is slow, rhythmical and meditative and the magic of the print emerging always makes the effort worth it!
As well as original prints Francis sells greetings cards and notebooks based upon her original print designs.
