Saltaire Arts Trail

Saltaire Arts Trail 2024 took place over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend from Sat 4 – Mon 6 May.

Thousands of visitors explored the Open Village to see high-quality contemporary artwork in the unique spaces of Saltaire and Shipley, in homes, businesses, creative spaces and windows and enjoyed a busy programme of exhibitions, activities and workshops.

A new event – MAKE IT Bradford, a pop-up market showcasing local talent – was hosted by Shipley College in the Salt Buildin, and the ever-popular Saltaire Makers Fair returned to Victoria Hall for two days, with over 70 of the UK’s best contemporary craft designer-makers exhibiting across 3 rooms.

Art in Unique Spaces

Saltaire Arts Trail is a community arts event held annually in May. It offers an imaginative visual arts programme, celebrating the village’s rich heritage, and offering opportunities to both emerging and established artists.

The Arts Trail prides itself in reaching out to new audiences and making art accessible to all by using imaginative venues – the internationally recognised Salts Mill, public buildings, home and creative spaces in Saltaire and Shipley and outdoor spaces, to display visual art outside of traditional settings, as well as delivering new exhibitions and commissions.

We aim to make each Saltaire Arts Trail new and fresh, with commissioned contemporary artwork and inclusive activities for all.
