CatchLife is slow photography, each image the result of researching ancient maps and roaming the old footpaths, bridleways and turnpike roads, seeking out the remains of bygone settlements and workplaces that form the social and industrial heritage of the Pennines. Each site is revisited many times, across the seasons, using long exposures to capture the subject’s depth and atmosphere. Each subject is then presented as a study of images, aiming to capture the character, ambience and drama of the landscape, its industrial and social heritage, and a celebration of the life and culture lived then and now.
