Jo’s work is abstract inspired by horizons, seas and big skies which she experienced growing up in the red land of Australia, sailing oceans in her 20’s, working on yachts – continuously fighting the rust… She has a fascination with rust and metals in their own right.
She works with rusted metal, texture, copper, verdigris, silver and gold metal leaf, which is sometimes combined with a sky-scape painted onto ply cradles, at 3 cm deep. The work is unframed from 20cm to 100cm.
Jo is a Fine Art graduate from Bradford University 2002 and has her own art studios in York.
