Bev Morton

Bev is a mixed media artist who lives in Thornton. She is based at South Square where she is a studio holder and a member of Unit 9 artists collective.

Inspired by nature, in art practice, Bev seeks to convey her emotional responses to the landscape. Her monotypes and abstract landscapes use created with acrylics and using local vegetation, layer upon layer of mark-making, colour, collage and texture.

Returning to her art practice after decades of absence, Bev now exhibits her work and runs workshops where she encourages play and skill sharing. She exhibited at South Square for her Unit 9 solo exhibition in Sept 23 and previously at Studio Vault Gallery in Settle and The Apothecary in Thornton. This year, as well as participating in Saltaire Arts Trail, she is running four workshops at Yorkshire Crafthouse and exhibiting in their gallery from Oct-Dec 2024.
