Izzie May
Izzie May is a traditional printmaker specialising in drypoint print. Her textural, atmospheric prints take inspiration from the misty days of the surrounding West Yorkshire landscape and moorland.
Originally from Hebden Bridge, Izzie studied illustration in Leeds where she began printing and discovered drypoint. Through university she focused on the lives and literature of the Brontë sisters, where much of the themes of darker landscape comes from. Research of the Brontë sisters continued after education and through walks across West Yorkshire, the land continues to be a large source of inspiration which shows through Izzie’s wild and windswept printmaking.
