From designing and airbrushing metal and punk album covers in the 90s (The Exploited, The Almighty, amongst others), Koot now re-uses that imagery to produce his own paintings based on both rock music and the evolution of fantastical creatures. Lino printing, both on paper and on T shirts, is now also a favoured medium.
